VHS vs. Communism: In Romania, a Voice of Freedom

During the Cold War, the country of Romania was ruled with an iron fist by the dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu. With people not being allowed to travel outside the country, their view of the outside world was severely limited, especially with most hours on TV being propaganda of the communist party. But thousands of pirated VHS copies of movies from the west made their way illegally to Romania, all dubbed by the voice of a single individual. Here is her story.
