The First Episode Of ‘The Price Is Right’

On September 4, 1972, The New Price Is Right debuted on CBS (the ‘New’ was dropped later), a follow up to the original ‘The Price Is Right’ that aired from 1956 to 1965. And of course Bob Barker was the host. The first contestant, let history record, was a Connie Dunall who successfully bid for a fur coat ($595) and a blue 1972 Chevrolet Sega Kammback Wagon ($2,746). Question is, could she afford to pay the taxes on her prizes?
